Trip

What it is

A collaborative trip journaling web application built with Rails, Phlex, and Hotwire. Built by Vogon Partners OÜ.

Problem

Shared trip memory and coordination: plan and run a trip together, write journal entries with media, comment and react, track checklists, invite members, with clear write and comment rules by trip state, and optionally drive the journal through an MCP assistant.

Interesting engineering

  • Action → event → subscriber → job architecture for write paths you can reason about.
  • MCP endpoint (POST /mcp) with Bearer authentication and X-Agent-Identifier agent attribution; tools call the same application actions as the UI.
  • Soft delete, versioning, and an activity path designed for recoverable collaboration.
  • Passwordless and passkeys-oriented authentication.
  • Phlex component UI and Kamal deployment configuration.

What this demonstrates about Vogon

How we structure product domain logic, authorisation, media, notifications, and agent-facing surfaces, inspectable in public source.

What this does not prove

Trip demonstrates product engineering. It does not prove smart-environment consulting delivery, named client outcomes, or a live production URL.

Optional deep dives (Insights)

Actions/events/jobs; MCP shared-action contract; soft delete and restore.
